THE eruptions of Mt. Kanlaon have caused significant displacement, affecting 11,883 families or 45,526 individuals across 32 barangay (villages) in Western and Eastern Visayas, the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) said on Thursday, Dec. 26.

The OCD said that among those displaced were 4,454 families equivalent to 14,186 individuals, who are currently staying at 32 evacuation centers, while 2,185 families or 6,953 people have sought shelter outside of these facilities.
