I've been no stranger to Christmases spent caregiving — with any luck, there's usually a small sofa or futon near the patient and moments of quiet. So unfortunately, there's no review of a film from among then 10 currently in the Metro Manila Film Festival. But I've got some current comfort viewing suggestions.
"Black Doves" is a cloak and dagger/spy thriller series set in London over Christmas. The show has colorful gangsters, upper echelon traitors, holiday trappings, and action. Most importantly, it has its two magnetic leads, Keira Knightley and Ben Whishaw who keep us glued to the story.
