THAT is the title of Susan Lara's book of brilliant short stories that won a National Book Award for Fiction back when I was still a member of the Manila Critics Circle.
Among that group's members, Doreen G. Fernandez has passed on, along with National Artist Cirilo F. Bautista, Fr. Miguel Bernad, S.J., and Alfredo Navarro Salanga. It's now being run by a younger and newer group of people, and that is good.
