MANDAUE CITY — Over 16,000 supporters of former City mayor Jonas Cortes gathered on Monday night, Dec. 23, in a massive indignation rally, demanding justice following the Commission on Elections (Comelec) decision to cancel the dismissed official's certificate of candidacy (COC) for the 2025 mayoral race.
The prayer rally at the Cebu International Convention Center drew participants from diverse sectors, including senior citizens, transport workers, youth groups, LGBTQ+ members, persons with disabilities and residents from Mandaue City's 27 barangay.
