LEGAZPI CITY — After a hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Albay Blue Lane (ABL) Inc., a nongovernment organization that pioneered the blue economy concept of development, is refocusing and restrengthening its mission of coastal and marine protection objectives to safeguard the province's world-class biosphere reserve.

Given the intensifying threats of climate change, the blue economy includes marine resources conservation and is regarded as the last frontier of development and therefore should be nourished and protected, said Nong Dawal, one of the original organizers of ABL.
