The Japanese government has provided a $2.58 million grant to bolster peacebuilding and security efforts in the Bangsamoro region. Implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the project included the rehabilitation of four Joint Peace and Security Team (JPST) stations damaged by natural disasters, along with the installation of solar power systems and upgraded water facilities at six stations to enhance operational efficiency.
Japan Embassy's Deputy Chief of Mission Matsuda Kenichi attended the handover ceremony for the project of enhancing and sustaining peace and security mechanisms in Mindanao on Dec. 16, in JPST Station Munai, Lanao del Norte.
