CEBU CITY — Public schools in Central Visayas may face setbacks in their digital learning initiatives, as the Department of Education's (DepEd) 2025 national budget has been slashed by P12 billion, with a significant portion of the cut affecting the Computerization Program (DCP).

DepEd – Central Visayas (DepEd-7) Regional Director Salustiano Jimenez emphasized during a year end press conference on Wednesday, Dec. 18, that this reduction will significantly impact the region, which typically receives one of the largest budget allocations in the country.
