BARANGAY health centers are mandated to provide basic health care to its residents. In Quezon City, one of the barangay health centers is the Krus na Ligas Health Center. It is under the Quezon City HealthDepartment and serves 73,647 residents.The Quezon City Health Department seeks to provide citizens with innovative, technology-driven, hybrid health services through a public-private alliance.To achieve this, the city government has partnered with the private sector, one of which is SM Foundation Inc. (SMFI), the corporate social responsibility arm of the SM Group.Recently, SMFI turned over a retrofitted Krus na Ligas Health Center to the city government of Quezon, led by Mayor Joy Belmonte — after just 13 weeks of rehabilitation work.SMFI undertook a comprehensive overhaul of the health center. Its layout and design were updated. It was also provided with new medical tools and equipment.Aside from gaining PhilHealth accreditation, the improvement of the center aims to provide a consistent level of care while continuously improving its practices and services.With the renovation and refurbishment, the health center now boasts a dedicated breastfeeding area, reception area, lounge for the elderly and pregnant patients, children's play area, pharmacy, dental clinic, and a Teen Hub.
