Nika Juris Nicolas, the only female who holds a National Master title in the Philippines, is slated compete in the 4th AQ Prime Standard Open Chess Tournament on Dec. 20-21, 2024 at the Pavilion Mall, Greenfield District in Mandaluyong City.
The 11-year-old Nicolas competed in the boys under-11 division of the National Youth and Schools Chess Championships grand finals in Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte on June 2-9, bagging silver medals in standard and blitz events and a bronze in rapid chess.
