CEBU CITY — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has put to an end the reelection bid of dismissed Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes by canceling his Certificate of Candidacy (CoC) due to false information.
A document obtained by The Manila Times on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2024, revealed that the Comelec Second Division granted the petition of lawyer Ervin Estandarte, who claimed Cortes committed a "serious misrepresentation" in his CoC.
