(UPDATE) SEOUL — South Korea's impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol did not commit insurrection by declaring martial law and will fight the charge in court, his defense team said on Tuesday, the Yonhap News Agency reported.
Yoon, who has been stripped of his duties by parliament, is under investigation for his Dec. 3 declaration, which plunged the East Asian country into political turmoil and led to a weekend impeachment vote.
