PRIVATE consumption is expected to buoy Philippine economic growth as the expansion will remain below the government's target, a Bank of America (BofA) official said.

Vince Valdepeñas, BofA country executive for the Philippines, said the economy was poised for moderate 5.9-percent growth for this year up to 2026.
