Spurs coach Popovich says he plans to return to bench after stroke

LOS ANGELES — San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich, the NBA's all-time leader in wins, indicated Monday he was working toward a return to the bench after suffering what the team called a mild stroke in November.

'No one is more excited to see me return to the bench than the talented individuals who have been leading my rehabilitation process,' said the 75-year-old coaching icon known for his grit and grumpiness.
