VISITING pawnpushers dominated the Cagayan de Oro Christmas Open Rapid Chess Tournament 2024 which concluded on Sunday at Bulua City Mall in Cagayan de Oro City.
Travelling all the way from Midsayap, North Cotabato, National Master Roger Sarip showed that he still enough creative juice left on his 61-year-old brain when he outwitted a tough field that included fresh-from-Dubai International Master Rustum Tolentino and the rest of the so-called who's who in Mindanao chess.
