TACLOBAN CITY — The Philippine National Police regional office has deployed some 4,500 police personnel to ensure peaceful Christmas and New Year celebrations in Eastern Visayas under its "Ligtas Paskuhan" (Safe Christmas) 2024 campaign.
The Police Regional Office 8 (PRO-8) said that starting Dec. 16, some 2,000 personnel will be tasked to secure public places with the support of 569 personnel from augmentation units and 706 members of advocacy groups.
