NPA leader slain in Samar clash

THE military continued its focused operations on dwindling New People's Army (NPA) in Samar province, killing a squad leader in Catbalogan, Samar, on Friday, Dec. 13.

Based on reports reaching Camp Aguinaldo on December 14, Capt. Jefferson Mariano, officer of the Philippine Army's 8th Infantry Division (8ID) Information, said the NPA leader was neutralized as troops from the 46th Infantry Battalion battled a new NPA group in Barangay Cawayan on Friday.
