DAMASCUS — America, European, Turkish and Arab diplomats were in Jordan for high-level talks on Syria on Saturday, a day after celebrations in Damascus and nationwide rejoicing over the ouster of leader Bashar al-Assad.

Syrians celebrated the day they called the "Friday of victory" with fireworks heralding the fall of Assad's family.
