BBM calls for disaster response innovation

PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Friday stressed the need for science-based innovations in disaster response, calling the country's top disaster management office and local government units (LGUs) to work together for the cause.

In his message at the 24th Gawad Kalasag National Awarding Ceremony in Pasay City, Marcos said that the Philippines was one of the most disaster-prone countries in the world, being frequently visited by typhoons, exacerbated by climate change, and situated in the Pacific Ring of Fire.
