MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) cancelled the certificate of candidacy of Marikina City Mayor Marcelino R. Teodoro as an aspirant for congressman in the first district of Marikina in the upcoming 2025 midterm polls for material misrepresentation.
In a 25-page ruling, the Comelec Second Division, headed by Commissioner Socorro B. Inting, the petitioners were able to prove that Teodoro deliberately committed material misrepresentation in his CoC.
