Zamboanga Peninsula rebel-free, military says

ZAMBOANGA Peninsula has been declared as 'insurgency-free' by the military and the police on Sunday.

Zamboanga Peninsula brings to seven areas in the country to have been tagged as insurgency-free following relentless anti-insurgency operations against the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) and New People's Army (NPA) for years.
