A FEW days ago, as the Philippine population was bewitched by the private lives of some showbiz personalities, the Vietnam government signed an agreement with Nvidia's founder, Jensen Huang, to establish Nvidia's Research and Development (R&D) Center for Artificial Intelligence. As stated in its press release, the R&D Center will 'focus on software development, capitalizing on the country's strong talent pool of STEM engineers, and to engage industry leaders, startups, government agencies, universities and students to accelerate the adoption of AI.' It further stated that 'Nvidia is engaged with more than 100 Vietnamese startups as part of its inception program in addition to 65 universities within the country.'
This is a game-changing development for Vietnam in the era of artificial intelligence. Kudos to the Vietnamese government for investing in and strategically partnering with the world's leading GPU innovator. Vietnam now has the potential to be a major global hub for innovation, and this is a landmark victory for innovation in Vietnam.
