A CITY in the Philippines — that's how most residents of Angeles City describe their home. Although it is grouped under Pampanga for statistical purposes, it is politically independent. Despite this "independence," Angeles is considered the center of Kapampangan culinary traditions, history, culture and heritage. As a highly urbanized city with a population of about half a million, it is the largest in the province. Together with Clark, Metro Angeles City serves as a major business, industrial, entertainment, transportation and tourism hub in Central Luzon.
