The heavy traffic on a Thursday afternoon was not match for this author's desire to attend the opening of the Daloy-Likha Art Gallery in Tiendesitas, Pasig City. Owned by fellow artist Noel Bueza and his energetic wife Marilyn, this is their third branch, which is mainly focused on sculptures. The place is small, yet all the sculptures were aesthetically arranged, which gave its items a perfect spectacle. On the opposite side of the new gallery, different artworks are displayed by prominent artists and masters, and the collection is of amazing works by local artists. As the author looked around, he recognized many familiar faces at the gathering. Fidel Sarmiento, the 'El Presidente' of the Art Association of the Philippines (AAP), was present, while Ismael Esber entertained everyone with jokes throughout the afternoon. Brando Limon Bati had traveled from Tanay, Rizal, and his high spirits added a personal touch to the event. Zorrick Piñero Enriquez attended with his lovely wife, along with many others. Noel Bueza beamed with smiles as more artists arrived to support the couple's latest endeavor. The sculptures featured various astounding subjects, showcasing Bueza's creativity and perseverance. The meticulously crafted art pieces were breathtaking and required ample space for proper display, making the new gallery an ideal venue. Additionally, the collection enhanced the second level of Tiendesitas with its impressive variety of Bueza's works. The first Daloy-Likha Art Gallery was established in the welcoming town of Lucban, Quezon, on a serene farm featuring a flowing stream. This beautiful setting inspired the couple to name it 'Daloy-Likha.' The farm was like a paradise, filled with numerous fruit-bearing trees and a stream teeming with live fish, including the local tilapia. The couple received warm support from many artists. Due to this encouraging environment, they opened a second gallery at Ali Mall in Cubao, Quezon City, in November 2023. This new location was spacious enough to accommodate around fifty artworks or more. At this venue, the couple hosted hundreds of art exhibitions featuring various art groups, solo shows, and more, creating an atmosphere of inclusivity and warmth. The inspiring story of the Daloy-Likha art gallery is a testament to the power of perseverance. It all began with a dream, and through Bueza's unwavering determination, he saved enough funds from the sales of his early works to purchase a farm in Lucban, Quezon. The rest, as they say, is history. Their three branches are thriving, and soon, two more will be added, one in Makati and another in Quezon City. This clearly demonstrates their hard work, prayers, and the symbiotic relationship they share with their artists, who have supported them every step of the way.For over 30 years in the art industry, Noel Bueza has mastered the essentials of the art business and understands the styles that discerning clients typically seek. He has created and developed a unique sculpture style that has captivated even the most astute buyers, particularly his nipa hut and coconut series, which have sold in large quantities since their inception. Recently, he introduced the bonsai series, which has quickly become his best-selling creation, leading him to open his third branch. He is focused on developing more opportunities for himself and fellow artists who rely on creating art for their livelihood. As Marilyn observes, their commitment to the arts remains steadfast, and they will continue to push boundaries to create more opportunities for artists.more opportunities for artists
