Mechanization makes Negros Occidental coop triumph

IN the lush fields of Negros Occidental, Herly Tumalaytay, a beacon of determination and dedication, has paved the way to success. At 61 years old, a mother, and a recipient of the Recognition for Women in Agriculture and Rural Development (Reward), she was hailed in 2022 as the champion on Women Leader of an Agricultural Organization category.

Reflecting on their journey, Tumalaytay recalled the challenges they faced before achieving success. One of these challenges was establishing a solid organization. With the assistance of various government agencies, their cooperative emerged as one of the highest-earning in Negros Occidental.
