ROS hands Hong Kong Eastern 1st loss

MANILA, Philippines — Rain or Shine welcomed import Deon Thompson's debut with a 99-81 shellacking of foreign squad Hong Kong Eastern in the main game of the PBA Season 49 Commissioner's Cup on Wednesday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

The Elasto Painters pulled away for good in the fourth quarter after outgunning the guest ball club, 29-17 to chalk up its first win after opening the conference with a 121-111 defeat to the Meralco Bolts.
