MANILA, Philippines — The Senate on Tuesday approved on third and final reading Senate Bill 2461 granting Philippine citizenship to Russian figure skater Aleksandr Sergeyevich Korovin.
"It is high time that the Philippines win a medal in the Winter Olympics, just as the country won its first gold medal in the Summer Olympics. This dream of success in the Winter Olympics will come to fruition when the Senate gives its full support to Isabella Gamez and her partner, Aleksandr Korovin," said Senate Majority Leader Francis Tolentino, author of the bill.
