Can a private high school dismiss a student due to fraternity membership?

THE LEGAL MIND

YES.

A private high school may dismiss or exclude a student on grounds of fraternity membership if this is sanctioned by the school's student manual or handbook on student discipline. Such school rules should explicitly provide that the range of penalties that may be imposed by the school authorities for fraternity membership includes dismissal or exclusion from the rolls.
