MANILA, Philippines — After two consecutive ash emission events on Monday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said it is monitoring Kanlaon Volcano for a "possible major eruption."
Phivolcs director Teresito Bacolcol said Monday that the ash emissions first occurred at 7:46 a.m. until 7:53 a.m. while the second event happened at 8:16 a.m. and lasted for 14 minutes.
