MANILA, Philippines — Meralco played with great resolve as it outlasted Rain or Shine, 121-111 in a battle between two important-less ballclubs in the main game of the PBA Season 49 Commissioner's Cup at the Ynares Center.
The Bolts lost import Akil Mitchell, just 11 seconds into the game due to a possible broken nose. But the Meralco stepped up against an Elasto Painters side that also entered the game without an import for failing to secure a special work permit.
