PORTO SANTO ISLAND, Portugal — Team Philippines wrapped up its 32nd FIDE World Senior Chess Championships campaign with two gold medals and a bronze.The medals, however, came from the tournament's side events.International Master Chito Danilo Garma of Manila claimed the gold in the Blitz event in the 50 years old and above category with an impressive 8-1 record, while FIDE Master Mario Mangubat of Cebu topped the Rapid event in the 65 years old and above category, scoring 4.5 points out of 6 games.Mangubat also won the bronze in the Blitz with 5.5 points. In the standard time control format, Garma finished 24th overall out of 80 participants in the 50 and above category.In the 65 and above, Efren Bagamasbad placed 46th and Mangubat landed at 48th.The head of delegation and coach of the team is National Master Almario Marlon Bernardino Jr.
