MANILA, Philippines —The Behrouz Elite Swimming Team (BEST) triumphantly returned home with 11 medals from the 2024 Batang Pinoy swimming competitions recently held in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.Representing Paranaque City, Yugo Cabana led the charge of teh squad, capturing one gold, three silver, and one bronze medals in the boys' 14-15 division. Cabana dominated the 100m butterfly with a record time of 59.66 seconds, outpacing silver medalist Kevin Chan (1:00.98) of Mandaluyong and bronze medalist Jet Berueda (1:01.34) of Pampanga.The 14-year-old Cabana added silver medals in the 200m butterfly, 50m butterfly and 100m freestyle events, while securing bronze in the 200m Individual Medley.Immaculate Heart of Mary College-Paranaque standout Behrouz Mohammad Madi Mojdeh also delivered an impressive showing, earning six medals in the boys' 12-13 category. Mojdeh, younger brother of World Cup semifinalist Micaela Jasmine, secured four silver medals in the 200m breaststroke, 200m butterfly, 200m backstroke, and as part of the 4x100m medley relay team. Additionally, he won two bronze medals in the 200m Individual Medley and 100m breaststroke events.Mojdeh achieved this feat despite nursing an ankle injury.'Despite missing some training days due to a sprained ankle, you displayed heart and determination.
