NOT too long ago, I felt very privileged to witness the maiden show of Filipinxt in New York City. The multi-cultural city, as one of the fashion capitals of the world, was and is a fitting venue to bring Filipino world-class designers to the global stage.
"There has never been a dedicated Filipino American Fashion Week in New York," notes Filipinxt co-founder Rob Mallari-D'Auria. Recognizing Filipino talent and paving the way "to showcase the amazing Filipino designers in one of the biggest fashion capitals in the world...," he hopes that "Filipinxt will serve as a blueprint or playbook for other designers or creatives to replicate."
