A GROUP of trial lawyers denounced the detention of Office of the Vice President (OVP) Undersecretary Zuleika Lopez upon the order of the House of Representatives Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Quezon City Trial Lawyers League Inc. (QCTLL) branded the action of the House committee as a "blatant disregard" of the constitutional rights to due process and presumption of innocence.
