POLICE seized over P102 million worth of suspected shabu in Barangay Buaya, Lapu-Lapu City, during a buy-bust on Friday.Police said it confiscated 15 kilograms of the illegal drugs, which were packed in tea bags and stored in a traveling bag.The drugs, valued at P102,340,000, were allegedly intended for delivery to a customer.The operation took place at 3:06 a.m. in Zone 7 and was led by the City Intelligence Unit of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office under Lt. Col. Mark Lester Eteroza.The suspect, 42-year-old Wilzen Messiah Regalado Credo, is not a resident of Barangay Buaya, but of Barangay Lagtang in Talisay City.City of Lapu-Lapu Substance Abuse and Prevention chief Garry Lao clarified in an interview on Saturday that Barangay Buaya was simply the location of the operation.The operation occurred just 10 hours after the Regional Oversight Committee on Drug Clearing declared Barangay Buaya drug-cleared on Nov. 21.The committee, which includes the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), the Philippine National Police (PNP), and other government agencies, has cleared 14 barangay in Lapu-Lapu City of illegal drugs.Despite the large quantity of the drug seizure, Lao assured that the operation will not affect the drug-cleared status of Barangay Buaya.
