MANILA, Philippines — It's not everyday that Filipino fans, especially women, would see Dwight Ramos in the flesh in a real basketball game. No wonder, fans shouted Ramos' name at some point of the Gilas-Hong Kong game on Sunday during the Philippine team's final home stand in the second window of the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers at the Mall of Asia Arena.
But the American mentor said as much as he would have wanted to play the 26-year-old Ramos, he couldn't due to the fact that the versatile FIlipino-American sustained a calf injury in the third period of Gilas' 93-89 win over New Zealand last Thursday.
