International Master Ronald Dableo scored six straight victories before settling for a draw against FIDE Master David Elorta in the final round to rule the Victoria Sports Club Rapid Tournament.Dableo defeated Juan Lucas Agmat, Woman National Master Ma. Elayza Villa, IM Barlo Nadera, Sherwin Tiu, Kevin Arquero and Chester Neil Reyes.Elorta, who placed second in the tournament, scored wins against Joshua Alega, Danie Baylosis, John Donguines, IM Angelo Young, Grandmaster Joey Antonio and FM Alekhine Nouri. For the victory, Dableo pocketed the P10,000 plize plus a VS hotel accommodation and a one month premier membership with the Victory Sports Club facilities. The other top 10 winners also received cash prizes while the 101 non-winning players got a free pass for the therapy water pool and spa.The tournament was organized by Victoria Sport Club headed by operations manager Hart Ocampo, chief arbiter Rainer Pascual of Kaizen Knight, media relation National Master Marlon Bernardino and tournament director Allan Alvarez of i-Bayanihan (IIEE-Bayanihan)The next event will the the 9th SiKAT or Speed-chess i-Bayanihan Knockout Armageddon Tournament and the Grand SiKAT or Armageddon Battle of Champions to be held in SMX Pasay City during the last day of 49th IIEE National Convention on Nov. 30, 2024.
