THE 3rd National Conference on Family Planning (NCFP), organized by the Department of Health (DOH) in partnership with the Commission on Population and Development (CPD) and the Forum for Family Planning and Development, was held at a hotel in Quezon City on Nov. 20 and 21, 2024. With "Innovate, Collaborate and Accelerate Now" as its theme, this significant event gathered more than 600 participants, including representatives from government agencies, the private sector, civil society organizations, international development partners, and adolescent and youth groups.

I had the privilege of attending the conference, including its pre-conference session, which focused on the demographic dividend and climate change. The 3rd NCFP featured discussions on current developments, innovative strategies and collaborative efforts to advance family planning, gender equality, and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). These conversations also addressed research methodologies and findings at both national and global levels, as well as challenges, enabling policies and actions needed to move forward.
