Adamson University took down Ateneo de Manila University, 69-55, at the FilOil EcoOil Centre on Saturday to force a playoff for the last UAAP Season 87 men's basketball Final Four berth against University of the East.Avenging their first round loss to the Blue Eagles, the Soaring Falcons rose to 6-8 to tie the Red Warriors at No. 4 and arrange a playoff for the last semifinals berth on Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.The winner between Adamson and UE will face top seed and defending champ De La Salle, which holds a twice-to-beat incentive in the semis.Second seed University of the Philippines and third seed University of Santo Tomas battle in the other semis pairing, with the former also holding a twice-to-beat advantage.This is the third straight season where Adamson would battle for the last semis berth, with the first one in Season 85 when it beat La Salle and the second was Season 86 when it lost to Ateneo.Meanwhile, the Blue Eagles finished Season 87 as the eighth and last seed with a 4-10 record, missing the semifinals for the first time in 11 years.
