PHILIPPINE fintech startup Salmon wants to secure a thrift-bank license for Rural Bank of Santa Rosa as it expands its operations in the country.
"Right now, what we can see is that a thrift bank will make sense, but we need to make sure we're ready, capital-wise, and all the potential criteria of the BSP. We have all the processes in place to do that. But that's our ambition. A thrift bank," Salmon Group co-founder and business head Raffy Montemayor told reporters on Friday.
