Marcos calls Trump, seeks deeper US ties

(UPDATE) PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Tuesday expressed the Philippines' desire to further strengthen its ties with the United States in a 'very good, friendly and productive' call with US President-elect Donald Trump.

'I was able to schedule a phone call to President-elect Donald Trump. I was able to talk to him, and he remembered the Philippines,' Marcos told reporters in Catanduanes.
