MANILA, Philippines — Governors in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) called for the postponement of regional parliamentary elections to 2026 to allow ample time for a "comprehensive and inclusive electoral process."

"The undersigned Governors of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) urge and call for the resetting of the first regular parliamentary elections," the governors said in their joint statement.
