SINCE the 1960s, our educational system has been praised for its ambition to produce well-rounded students. However, the current curriculum at the primary level is dense, overwhelming and counterproductive.

With numerous subjects competing for limited learning time, the students are bombarded with information that risks undermining the quality of foundational learning. It is time we advocate for a leaner curriculum, focusing only on a few basic subjects. By doing so, we can create a more effective, engaging and holistic learning experience that hones critical skills and sets students up for long-term success.
