MANILA, Philippines — Former UP Fighting Maroons head coach Ricky Dandan passed away as announced by his friend and also fellow UP head coach Bo Perasol in a Facebook post on Wednesday.Dandan was 61.'Rest In Peace, tol (buddy) - A true and loyal friend Coach Ricky Dandan,' wrote Perasol, who is also now the head of UP's Office for Athletics and Sports Development.Dandan's cause of death wasn't divulged yet as of posting time.A UP alumnus, Dandan served as the Maroons head coach from 2011 to 2013 and then as assistant coach from 2016 to 2019 in UAAP Seasons 79 to 82.Dandan also worked as an assistant coach for Air21, Powerade, GlobalPort, and head coach of the Columbian Dyip.He also coached the Bataan Risers in the MPBL.
