SAN JACINTO, Pangasinan — For the first time after more than a century, officials and residents of this central Pangasinan town celebrated Nov. 11 as "Battle of San Jacinto Memorial Day."

In a commemorative program held on Monday, Mayor Leo de Vera led town and village officials and representatives from different government agencies in honoring the "nameless and brave Filipinos" who perished during the battle that took place at Macayug village here 125 years ago.
