A NEW study published just last month by the climate research group World Weather Attribution has, for the first time, quantified to a reliable degree how much global warming has worsened weather events. Apart from confirming long-held assumptions that climate change is making individual weather events more extreme, the study's findings provide a great deal of guidance to improve weather forecasting, disaster response and climate adaptation planning.
