by The Manila Times
Nov 12, 2024 9:43 pm
Commission on Higher Education Chairperson Prospero de Vera III, Dr. Michael Tee, professor and chancellor of the University of the Philippines-Manila, Professor Joanna Toralba, laboratory manager of the University of the Philippines drugs of abuse research laboratory (DARL), and Manila Police District Director Arnold Thomas Ibay lead the relaunch and unveiling of markers of the drugs of abuse research laboratory at the University of the Philippines Manila on Nov. 12, 2024. This state-of-the-art technology, currently only available in UP Manila College of Pharmacy, efficiently identifies the proactive substance included in new party drugs or new psychoactive substances in real-time, thus helping not only law enforcement authorities but also medical teams during emergencies.
