SINCE the middle of August, four standing committees of the House of Representatives have been conducting an inquiry "in aid of legislation" into the bloody war on drugs during the term of former president Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

The quad committee inquiry is chaired by Rep. Robert Ace Barbers of the Committee on Dangerous Drugs, co-chaired by Rep. Dan Fernandez of the Committee on Public Order and Safety, Rep. Bienvenido Abante Jr. of the Committee on Human Rights, and Rep. Joseph Stephen "Caraps" Paduano of the Committee on Public Accounts.
