Marites Van Vianen honored her Mangyan roots in the ongoing "Katribu: Kapwa Pilipino" exhibition at the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) in Intramuros, Manila.


Van Vianen — a Filipino artist who won the Leonardo da Vinci award for 2023 and 2024 in Milan, Italy; Bronze awardee 2022 and Silver awardee 2024 at the Academique Art Science et Letres in Paris, France; and a member of Societe des Artistes Independants at the Grand Palais, Paris — honored the Indigenous people in the art exhibit. Featured artworks in the exhibit, running until November 30, include portraits of Whang-Od and the Mangyan Tribe of Mindoro.
