THE Supreme Court has imposed a fine on a judge for failing to resolve a case in time, in a landmark decision that brought attention to the issue of undue delay in the judicial process.

In a decision written by Associate Justice Henri Jean Paul Inting, the Supreme Court found Antipolo City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 99 Presiding Judge Miguel Asuncion guilty of gross neglect of duty for taking seven years to resolve a prayer for a writ of preliminary injunction.
