THE average electricity price of P4.39 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) in October was 13.1 percent higher than the P3.88/kWh last month, the Independent Electricity Market Operator of the Philippines Inc. (IEMOP) said on Tuesday.
There was a "slight increase in average demand because of the looming Christmas season, coupled with a slight decrease in average supply due to planned outages of some power facilities," said Chris Warren Manalo, IEMOP assistant manager for market simulation and analysis.
